Her dedication led her to Worsham College of Mortuary Sciences, where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1973. She was also inducted into Mu Sigma Alpha, an honor society for funeral service professionals, and received awards in both embalming and chemistry. By 1974, Barbara had completed her required apprenticeship and became a licensed funeral director—a title she has held with pride for over 40 years.
